A markdown editor build of CKEditor 5 – the best browser-based rich text editor.

Package Exports

  • @jdinabox/ckeditor5-build-markdown

This package does not declare an exports field, so the exports above have been automatically detected and optimized by JSPM instead. If any package subpath is missing, it is recommended to post an issue to the original package (@jdinabox/ckeditor5-build-markdown) to support the "exports" field. If that is not possible, create a JSPM override to customize the exports field for this package.

</div>
<script src="./node_modules/@jdinabox/ckeditor5-build-markdown/build/ckeditor.js"></script>
<script>
    MarkdownEditor
        .create( document.querySelector( '#editor' ) )
        .then( editor => {
            window.editor = editor;
        } )
        .catch( error => {
            console.error( 'There was a problem initializing the editor.', error );
        } );
</script>

Or in your JavaScript application:

import MarkdownEditor from '@jdinabox/ckeditor5-build-markdown';

// Or using the CommonJS version:
// const MarkdownEditor = require( '@jdinabox/ckeditor5-build-markdown' );

MarkdownEditor
    .create( document.querySelector( '#editor' ) )
    .then( editor => {
        window.editor = editor;
    } )
    .catch( error => {
        console.error( 'There was a problem initializing the editor.', error );
    } );

Setting Data

editor.setData('## Markdown Heading');

Getting Data

editor.getData();

Note: If you are planning to integrate CKEditor 5 deep into your application, it is actually more convenient and recommended to install and import the source modules directly (like it happens in ckeditor.js). Read more in the Advanced setup guide.
