Copy buffer data to a new Buffer instance.

Package Exports

  • @stdlib/buffer-from-buffer

This package does not declare an exports field, so the exports above have been automatically detected and optimized by JSPM instead. If any package subpath is missing, it is recommended to post an issue to the original package (@stdlib/buffer-from-buffer) to support the "exports" field. If that is not possible, create a JSPM override to customize the exports field for this package.

NPM version Build Status Coverage Status dependencies

Copy buffer data to a new Buffer instance.

Installation

npm install @stdlib/buffer-from-buffer

Usage

var copyBuffer = require( '@stdlib/buffer-from-buffer' );

copyBuffer( buffer )

Copies buffer data to a new Buffer instance.

var array2buffer = require( '@stdlib/buffer-from-array' );

var b1 = array2buffer( [ 1, 2, 3, 4 ] );
// returns <Buffer>[ 1, 2, 3, 4 ]

var b2 = copyBuffer( b1 );
// returns <Buffer>[ 1, 2, 3, 4 ]

Examples

var allocUnsafe = require( '@stdlib/buffer-alloc-unsafe' );
var copyBuffer = require( '@stdlib/buffer-from-buffer' );

var bool;
var b1;
var b2;
var i;

// Allocate a new buffer:
b1 = allocUnsafe( 10 );

// Generate a new buffer from the existing buffer:
b2 = copyBuffer( b1 );

bool = ( b2 === b1 );
// returns false

bool = ( b2.length === b1.length );
// returns true

for ( i = 0; i < b2.length; i++ ) {
    console.log( b2[ i ] === b1[ i ] );
    // => true
}

Notice

This package is part of stdlib, a standard library for JavaScript and Node.js, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computing. The library provides a collection of robust, high performance libraries for mathematics, statistics, streams, utilities, and more.

For more information on the project, filing bug reports and feature requests, and guidance on how to develop stdlib, see the main project repository.
