@stdlib/number-ctor

This package does not declare an exports field, so the exports above have been automatically detected and optimized by JSPM instead. If any package subpath is missing, it is recommended to post an issue to the original package (@stdlib/number-ctor) to support the "exports" field. If that is not possible, create a JSPM override to customize the exports field for this package.

Number

Constructor which wraps a numeric value in an object.

Installation

npm install @stdlib/number-ctor

Usage

var Number = require( '@stdlib/number-ctor' );

Number( value )

Returns a Number object.

var v = new Number( 5.0 );
// returns <Number>

Notes

This constructor should be used sparingly. Always prefer number primitives.

Examples

var randu = require( '@stdlib/random-base-randu' );
var Number = require( '@stdlib/number-ctor' );

var v;
var i;

for ( i = 0; i < 100; i++ ) {
    v = new Number( randu() );
    console.log( 'typeof %d: %s', v, typeof v );
